Festival dell’Olistico in Limana: two days of wellbeing at the Area Pro Loco

Limana, 5 and 6 September 2026

The first full weekend of September in the Valbelluna has an air that July never has: the morning calls for a sweater, the meadows are green again after the heat, and the villages fill up with people who are not merely passing through. In Limana, on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September, the Area Pro Loco in via Ruggero Fiabane opens for two full days to an event that has made this slower rhythm its own theme: the Festival dell’Olistico, eighth edition of the festival of Alternative Natural Remedies.

Entry is free, from 10am to 6pm on both days. This is not a wellbeing fair built for the tourist weekend: it is a village event, grown year by year, held in the same space that hosts the summer sagre and the autumn social gatherings.

Eight editions, a format that has found its measure

The eighth edition confirms a by now recognisable structure: on one side the practitioners, who present methods, treatments and remedies at stands open all day; on the other a programme of talks and workshops at fixed times, which paces the two days and gives a reason to stay rather than simply walk the stalls.

The range of what is on offer is wide and deliberately varied: yoga, pranayama and meditation, massage and self-massage, reflexology, mindfulness, traditional Chinese medicine, ayurveda, aromatherapy, naturopathy, analogical disciplines, numerology, kinesiology, Tibetan singing bowls, shiatsu, reiki, counselling, breathing practices and other disciplines presented by the practitioners taking part. These are paths of personal enquiry that the practitioners explain in person: visitors can listen, try, ask questions and form their own view.

Three organisations working together

The Festival is the result of a collaboration between Associazione Nutrimento per l’Anima ETS, which looks after its structure and content, Vie Naturali per il Benessere and the Pro Loco Limana, which provides the site, the organisational machinery and the catering.

It is a division of labour that explains why an event of this kind, in a provincial setting, manages to keep going for eight years: without a local body that knows the space, the suppliers and the volunteers, a themed initiative struggles to survive its first or second edition.

The Pro Loco Limana, a space for the community

The Pro Loco Limana is a voluntary association founded in 1980, with roots going back to the 1970s, and it works to promote and enhance the local area through cultural, traditional and recreational events. Alongside the Festival dell’Olistico its calendar includes events such as the Festa del Pesce and the Festa del Miele.

This is where the value of an equipped area run by a local association becomes visible: it is not only a physical space with a kitchen, tables and cover from the rain, but a meeting point able to host very different things — a village feast, a social evening, an event devoted to wellbeing — and to hold them together in the same place, with the same people setting up and taking down. In a municipality of a few thousand inhabitants, that continuity is what makes social vitality possible, and with it the tourist kind.

Saturday 5 September programme

Talks and workshops take place inside the Area Pro Loco; outside the times listed, practitioners remain available at their own stands.

  • 10:30–11:30 Vinyasa Yoga, with Sara Dal Pont and Amit Dimri
  • 11:45–12:45 Pranayama, with Elena Brancaleone
  • 14:30–15:30 Hands-on workshop on making a smudge, with Elena Bongian
  • 15:45–16:45 Hatha Yoga and energetic self-massage, with Lucia D’Angelo
  • 17:00–18:00 Presentation of the Dien Chan natural self-treatment method — Original Vietnamese Multireflexology of the Face, with Monica Stiz

Sunday 6 September programme

  • 10:00–11:00 Pranayama and meditation, with Sara Dal Pont and Amit Dimri
  • 11:15–12:30 «11:11 — Double numbers and their meaning in your life», with Enos Susca
  • 14:30–15:30 «A fairy tale for the Soul», with Elena Lucato
  • 15:34–16:45 «Meditation, awareness and listening», with Stefania Pierobon
  • 17:00–18:00 «Taijiquan and nei gong: energy and the emotional world», with Stefano Zuppa

The 15:34 start on Sunday is the time given on the event poster: we report it as it stands.

Market stalls and catering

Around the programme runs the market side, which is what gives the day the rhythm of a stroll. The stalls offer jewellery with semi-precious stones, local essential oils, stones, crystals and incense, prints and paintings, natural ethnic clothing, natural candles, mandala art, herbal teas, smudges and pendulums, and alkaline water devices.

The food point is run on site and serves a vegetarian and vegan menu prepared, as the organisers state, with 100% local produce. It is the detail that most clearly betrays the hand of the Pro Loco: in events like these the kitchen is not an accessory service but the place where the village sits down together.

A reason to stop in Limana

Limana lies on the left bank of the Piave, on the side that looks up at the Dolomites and catches the sun while the valley floor is still in shadow. It is a village you cross quickly along the main road and which instead, if you stop, opens upwards: the Valmorel basin, the hamlets scattered across the terraces, the vineyards recovered in recent years.

Two days at the Area Pro Loco can be the occasion to add a walk or a drive along the ridge towards the Nevegal, and to look at the Valbelluna from a point you would never guess from the main road.
