🏔️ A Mountain to Live. With Every Breath.
The Belluno Dolomites are fresh air, open skies, and pure freedom.
But they’re also about energy, movement, and passion.
Here, sport isn’t something you add to your day — it’s a natural way of living the mountains.
Whether you’re an athlete, a weekend explorer, or just curious, you’ll find the sport that suits you — or perhaps discover one you never expected.
🏞️ Land Sports. Trails to conquer, goals to reach.
The Dolomites offer the perfect playground for running, hiking, and climbing enthusiasts:
Trail running and skyrunning along iconic high-altitude trails
Half marathons and alpine marathons for strong legs and open hearts
Nordic walking, mountain running, and scenic trekking on well-marked paths
Rock climbing, ice climbing, bouldering, and crags just steps from village centers
Here, every step brings views, silence, and adrenaline.
🌊 Water and Air Sports. Ride the flow, catch the wind.
Where rivers rush and wind lifts, sport becomes pure experience:
Rafting, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, sailing, and kitesurfing on lakes and alpine rivers
Paragliding and skydiving for a new perspective over the Dolomites
Guided tours and courses available for all levels, even beginners
🎿 Winter Sports. From the slopes to the wild.
When the snow falls, the scene changes — but the spirit stays active:
Alpine skiing with hundreds of kilometers of slopes and modern lifts
Snowboarding and freestyle
Dog sledding, snowmobiling, curling, and ice skating
Snowshoeing, winter hiking, and cross-country skiing
Ski mountaineering for those who climb to descend in freedom
Each valley has its own pace, its own sports, and its own stories.
🧭 Movement, nature, and well-being. Part of who we are.
In the Belluno Dolomites, the culture of movement runs deep.
Sport is a way of being in the world: connected to nature, to ourselves, and to others.
📍 Whether you run, fly, slide, or climb — the mountains are waiting.
Four disciplines, in detail
Mountain biking and e-bikes
Pedal assistance has widened the range of anyone without racing legs: the forest roads of the Cansiglio, the Nevegal and the Val Canzoi can be ridden in a day, and the Dolomite passes come back within reach. All the routes, on tarmac and off it, are collected in cycling routes.
Cross-country skiing
This is the discipline with the longest tradition in the province. The most continuous tracks are in the Comelico and in the Cansiglio, where the plateau holds the snow even when the valley has none.
Ski touring and snowshoeing
Ski mountaineering here has a race that tells its story, the Transcavallo, on the group of the same name above the Alpago. Snowshoes cover the same ground with a far lower barrier to entry: the Cansiglio forest roads, the meadows of the Nevegal, the snow-covered valley floors. In winter, in both cases, the Arpav avalanche bulletin comes before anything else.
Paragliding and flying
The usual take-off points are the Nevegal above Belluno, the slopes of the Alpago and Monte Avena above Feltre, which has a flying school. It is the only way to see the Valbelluna, Lake Santa Croce and the wall of the Dolomites all at once.
Events and races
Races, rallies and sporting events are kept up to date in the DolomitiBelluno events calendar.
