Anyone after a quieter route, suitable for families and less-trained cycle tourists too, will find in the Val Belluna Loop one of the finest and most varied rides in the province.
Route data
- Start/Finish: Belluno (loop)
- Length: about 78 km
- Elevation gain: 846 m
- Surface: mixed, bike paths and minor roads
- Difficulty: easy/moderate, suitable for everyone
From Belluno the route winds between Salce, Villiago and Santa Giustina, alternating bike paths along the Piave with quiet minor roads, on a gentle profile that never throws up demanding gradients. After about 36 kilometres you reach Feltre, with its historic centre of perfectly preserved sixteenth-century streets, an ideal place to stop. The return towards Belluno passes through Busche and Borgo Piave, closing the loop after some 78 kilometres in all. Along the way you come across small gems such as Villa Giamosa, the Oratory of San Nicolò with its sixteenth-century triptych and the old Santa Libera Mill.

The itinerary can also be ridden in stages, split over two days with a stop in Feltre, or covered only in part for a shorter spin along the Valbelluna bike paths.
