ARMONIE 2017 – The Torrent’s Chase
Starting on Tuesday 1 August at 11.00am, the summer music festival that combines nature and music and brings harmony to the lively Belluno community, “ARMONIE 2017 – La rincorsa del torrente”, now in its seventh edition
We begin with Prima di qualsiasi altra cosa allora si perderà, the solo performance by cellist Francesco Guerri, for the appointment that has become one of our traditions: an encounter with avant-garde musical solos beneath the Pont de la Mortis, a setting of crystal-clear water amid a gorge of ivy-covered rocks.
Composition and improvisation intertwine, giving rise to a contemporary language that, breaking free of the genre classifications often associated with the cello, draws on rock, electronic music and minimalism.
Francesco Guerri was born in Cesena in 1977. In 2000 he graduated with top marks from the “B. Maderna” Conservatory of Music in Cesena. Right after the exam, he left the building with his beloved Shostakovich First Cello Concerto under his arm, never to look back. Since then he has turned to improvised, electroacoustic and rock music. He plays in various groups in Italy and abroad, including: NAGEL, NESTOR MAKHNO, CAMERA LIRICA, BLOODY CLAWS.
He has collaborated with musicians such as Tristan Honsinger, Carla Bozulich, Ches Smith, Cris Corsano, Fabrizio Spera, Fabrizio Puglisi, Alberto Fiori, Vincenzo Vasi, Laurence “Butch” Morris, William Parker, Nicola Guazzaloca and many others.
In 2015 he was invited to perform at the Cappella Paolina of the Palazzo del Quirinale, for the Concerti del Quirinale broadcast by RadioRai3.
