What to do in the Belluno Dolomites this weekend: 30 October – 2 November 2026

The All Saints’ long weekend arrives with the short days that come once the clocks go back, and with a compact calendar better suited to the theatre than the trail. Sunday 1 November is a public holiday and Monday 2 is All Souls’ Day: for many people in the Belluno area these are days for visiting cemeteries, calling on family and heading back to their home villages. Around all that, the weekend is mostly about talks and theatre. Feltre opens its Festival dell’Ambiente (environment festival) with Antonella Viola and an evening on pollinators, and adds an urban trek in the footsteps of Saint Francis and a Halloween party for children at the library. In Mel the stage remembers Tina Merlin a hundred years after her birth, in Agordo the CAI screens the film on the wolf’s return, in Cortina Umberto Galimberti gives a talk and young climbers take to the wall on Halloween night. Arredamont opens in Longarone. In Alpago «Chies e le sue montagne» draws to a close, San Vito di Cadore celebrates autumn and Lozzo listens to the 19th century in music.

We checked every event against the organisers’ own sources on 27 October. In autumn, times and programmes change easily: before you set off, check the event listing and book where needed.

The long weekend at a glance

  • For families: Halloween at the library and the Giallo al Museo in Feltre, Climb the Night! in Cortina
  • For nature lovers: the wolf film in Agordo, the pollinators in Feltre
  • For a good talk: Antonella Viola in Feltre, Umberto Galimberti in Cortina
  • For theatre lovers: Tina Merlin brought to life by Patrizia Zanco in Mel
  • For walkers: Feltre’s Franciscan urban trek, Crep Nudo in Alpago, the iron trail in Livinallongo
  • Last chance: «Buzzati pittore» (Buzzati the painter) at Palazzo Fulcis in Belluno closes on Sunday 1 November (best to phone ahead)

Feltre and its valley

On Friday 30 at 8:30 pm the Teatro de la Sena hosts the second event of the Festival dell’Ambiente «Aspettando San Matteo»: Antonella Viola with «Il costo biologico della crisi ambientale» (The biological cost of the environmental crisis), in conversation with Nicola Maccagnan, on climate, pollution, food and health. Admission is €5, via Vivaticket or at the box office.

Saturday 31 is a full day in Feltre. At 8:45 am the urban trek «San Francesco 1226-2026: sulle tracce dell’essenziale» sets off from piazza Duomo: three hours with a licensed guide taking in Santa Maria degli Angeli, the Cimitero monumentale, the Galleria Rizzarda and the Monte di Pietà, with forty places available by booking. In the afternoon the Polo Bibliotecario Feltrino celebrates Halloween with «Le follie di Dracula» (Dracula’s follies), an animated story and workshop by Febo Teatro in two sessions: 3 pm for children aged 3 to 6 and 5 pm for those aged 7 to 10. At the same time, older children aged 6 to 11 can help Inspector Battiferro crack «Giallo al Museo VI – Delitto a Teatro», a clue hunt between the Galleria Rizzarda and the Teatro de la Sena: €8, booking required. At 6 pm, at the Museo diocesano in via Paradiso, the evening «Non solo api» (Not just bees), organised with the National Park, explains why pollinating insects are so precious and why their numbers are falling. It’s free.

Saturday 31 is also the last day of Nostro Fratello d’Assisi, Saint Francis in comics at the Oratorio dell’Annunziata. Staying open until 31 January at the Galleria Rizzarda is «L’architettura svelata», the exhibition on Giuseppe Segusini: more than a hundred drawings, plans, paintings and sculptures, open Wednesday to Sunday and on public holidays, so Sunday 1 November too.

Belluno and the Valbelluna

According to the Biblioteca civica’s programme, Sunday 1 November brings the close of the series Dino Buzzati: sentirsi portato dal vento. The last exhibition still open is at the Museo Ricci in Palazzo Fulcis, via Roma: «Buzzati pittore. I meccanismi della creazione», some fifteen previously unseen drawings on tracing paper. The Oltre le Vette website, however, gives Saturday 31 as the final day, so it’s worth a call to 0437 913323. On Sundays and public holidays the Musei civici open from 10 am to 6:30 pm; they’re closed on Monday 2 and reopen on Tuesday 3. At Palazzo Crepadona, the exhibition «I libri di Dino Buzzati» closes on Friday 30.

On Friday 30 at 8:45 pm, at the Piccolo Teatro «Pierobon» in Paiane, Ponte nelle Alpi, Stivalaccio Teatro stages Machiavelli’s «La Mandragola» in Commedia dell’Arte style, with masks and live music. On Saturday 31 at 5 pm, in Roe di Sedico, Gianni De Vecchi uses slides to tell the story of the first bridge over the Cordevole at Bribano, built in Napoleonic times. All weekend in Mel, Palazzo delle Contesse hosts the exhibition «Percezione – Illusione – Struttura», with kinetic works by Agostini, Costalonga, Costantini and Facchin: free entry, 10 am to 12:30 pm and 3 pm to 7:30 pm.

On Saturday 31 at 8:30 pm the Auditorium San Pietro in Mel, Borgo Valbelluna, hosts «A perdifiato, ritratto in piedi di Tina Merlin» (Breathless: a standing portrait of Tina Merlin): Patrizia Zanco brings to the stage the journalist who was first to warn of the dangers of the Vajont, in the centenary of her birth. Entry is free while seats last. The same evening in Trichiana, «Cavarnere», the roving show by Veneto Spettacoli di Mistero, is already sold out.

From Saturday 31, Longarone Fiere opens Arredamont, the mountain home furnishing show: furniture, stoves, windows and doors and materials for the alpine home, until 8 November. At the weekend it’s open from 10 am to 7 pm.

Agordino

On Friday 30 at 8:45 pm the «Don F. Tamis» hall of the Unione Montana in Agordo rounds off the CAI’s «Sere d’autunno» (autumn evenings) with «Lungo il sentiero» (Along the trail), a documentary by three naturalists on the wolf’s return to the Dolomiti Bellunesi, born from the Park’s project «Il Sentiero dei Lupi». Two of the filmmakers, Ivan Mazzon and Roberto Sacchet, will be there. Entry is free.

On Saturday 31, further north, the Museo Ladin Fodom leads a walk in the footsteps of iron working: setting off at 9 am from the square in Pieve di Livinallongo, the route runs from Soraruaz to Vallazza and Livinè, seven and a half kilometres with 300 metres of ascent and a taxi back. It costs €15 and must be booked by 1 pm the day before.

Cortina d’Ampezzo

On Friday 30 at 8:40 pm, as part of Cortina Teatro, the Alexander Girardi Hall welcomes Umberto Galimberti with «La verità è un’altra scena» (Truth is another stage), a reflection on truth from Plato to the age of technology. The official calendar doesn’t give a price, so it’s best to ask the organiser.

On Saturday 31 at 3 pm the Lino Lacedelli climbing gym in Sopiazes hosts Climb the Night!, a climbing competition for young people aged 4 to 20 that counts as the 5th Trofeo Marco Da Pozzo. After the prize-giving there’s music, chestnuts and a Halloween party. Registration closes at midnight on Wednesday 28 October.

Until Tuesday 3 November, at the Ciasa de ra Regoles, the Museo Rimoldi displays alpaca wool pieces made by Andean craftswomen of Operazione Mato Grosso in the exhibition «Trame di Futuro» (Threads of the future), free entry.

Alpago

In Chies d’Alpago, the series «Chies e le sue montagne» (Chies and its mountains) reaches its twenty-fifth edition and closes in two parts. On Friday 30 at 8:30 pm, in the community hall in Lamosano, geologist Nicola Fullin talks about the Inca Trail and high-altitude trekking in Peru. On Saturday 31 the meeting point is Casera Crosetta at 7:45 am for the hike to Crep Nudo, with Mass at the summit and lunch at 1:30 pm at the Osteria dai Tosat in Funes. Difficulty and costs aren’t published: ask the Comitato Alpago 2 Ruote & Solidarietà.

Cadore and Comelico

Beneath the Antelao, San Vito di Cadore celebrates autumn with Fall in Cadore Dolomiti: market stalls, concerts and local produce in the village centre, on Friday 30 from 3 pm and Saturday 31 from 10 am. If it rains, only Friday’s programme goes ahead, indoors. On Saturday 31 at 6 pm, in the Sala Pellegrini of the library in Lozzo, flute and guitar play Rossini and Coste in «L’Ottocento in valigia» (The 19th century in a suitcase); at the same time the Museo Algudnei in Dosoledo hosts a talk on 17th-century painting in the churches of Comelico.

In the Zoldo valley we found no confirmed events. Two useful warnings for anyone heading up to Cadore: the museums of the Magnifica Comunità di Cadore are closed from 19 October to 4 December while they are being rearranged, and no ski lifts are open over the long weekend: the Dolomiti Superski season starts on 4 December.

Exhibitions open over the long weekend

Something to do with the kids

Accessibility

Almost all of this weekend’s events take place in halls, theatres and museums, but the organisers don’t publish information on wheelchair access. Feltre’s urban trek climbs the hill of the old citadel, with around 80 metres of ups and downs. Before setting off, it’s worth phoning the numbers given in the listings.

A rainy-day idea

The weather hardly matters: talks, theatre, films, the library, museums and Arredamont are all indoors. The one exception is the first part of Feltre’s urban trek.

Other events reported, awaiting confirmation

  • Halloween in Agordo, Saturday 31 from the afternoon at the Corte Agordina, with a market and face painting: listed in the dolomitinews.org calendar, not confirmed by the organiser.
  • Museums open on 1 November in Cadore and Cortina: holiday opening hours have not been published for the Museo dell’Occhiale in Pieve di Cadore or the Musei delle Regole d’Ampezzo.

  • Daylight: now the clocks have gone back, the sun sets shortly after 5 pm. Take a torch for an afternoon walk.

And in the days after

On Friday 6 November at 8 pm the Teatro de la Sena in Feltre opens its season with «Casanova Grand Tour» by the Pantakin company. On Saturday 7 at 5 pm, at the Auditorium comunale in Belluno, the Circolo Culturale Bellunese presents «Ascolta che storia!» (Listen to this story!), a concert for children and families, and at 8:30 pm in Mel the LIPU devotes an evening to the white-winged snowfinch, flagship species of the Alps. On Sunday 8 November Feltre’s old town hosts the Antica Fiera di San Matteo from 8:30 am to 6 pm and, in the morning, the Park guides lead a walk to Prapavei among the autumn colours.

All events, day by day, are in the events calendar. You’ll find last weekend in What to do in the Dolomiti Bellunesi: 23–25 October; to understand what the wolf’s return really means, read The wolf is back: fear, coexistence and responsibility, and for day-trip ideas there’s our guide The Dolomiti Bellunesi in autumn.
