Antica Fiera di San Matteo in Feltre’s historic centre
On Sunday 8 November, Feltre’s historic centre turns into one big market of local produce: the Antica Fiera di San Matteo (the traditional St Matthew’s Fair) fills via Mezzaterra, piazza Maggiore, via Luzzo, piazzetta della Legna, largo Castaldi, via XXXI Ottobre and Campo Giorgio.
Alongside the stalls you’ll find willow and wicker weaving workshops and wooden games. At 10am the Banda Città di Feltre strikes up, at 11am it’s time for «Zitto Zitto» by Claudio Cremonesi, at 3pm «Prestige!» by Manuele Pascal, and at 4pm the Filò dei Thavarèi tell their stories in the local Feltre dialect. Cafés and restaurants in the centre serve breakfasts and lunches made with traditional local products.
