In the end, the Dolomites win everyone over. They live on in our travel memories, in the photos we take on a summit or by a lakeshore, with friends or with the people we share our walks with. Or, why not, in the pages of a book.
Our Dolomiti Bellunesi truly have something different about them. They are enchanted, as the many stories and legends that have wrapped our peaks and valleys over the years bear witness.
These are mountains with rugged profiles, wild summits, rushing torrents and “crode” (the local word for rocky crags) on which, and for which, unforgettable pages of history have been written, from epic mountaineering challenges to painful accounts from the front lines of the Great War.
The Dolomites are widely recognised as a heritage that belongs to us all, a treasure of humanity that over the years has earned a prominent place in literature.
So, on these pages we share the books we have enjoyed, because they tell the story of our land, one truly like no other.
