9th Transcavallo Equinox Run

It is the summer sister of the historic Transcavallo ski mountaineering race: same mountain, same committee, opposite season. The Transcavallo Equinox Run takes runners onto the trails of the Alpago Prealps, along the border with Friuli Venezia Giulia, on one of those Sundays when summer really does come to an end.

What to expect. The ninth edition, called Equinox Run Classic, follows a route of about 21.6 kilometres with 1,900 metres of positive elevation gain. Start and finish are the same place, the car park at Col Indes, 1,161 metres above Tambre. The course crosses the Cansiglio forest and climbs towards the most recognisable points of this mountain, through genuinely alpine terrain. It is a race that calls for mountain experience and solid training, not a road run with a bit of climbing.

Where. Col Indes, Tambre (Alpago).

When. Sunday 27 September 2026, start at 8.45 am.

Practical information. A sports medical certificate valid on the day of the race is compulsory. Refreshment points are provided along the course and at the finish. Even for those who are not running, Col Indes is a good vantage point: the start area can be reached by car and has parking.
