Val Belluna Loop by bike

Riders looking for something more relaxed, suitable for families and less-trained cycle tourists too, will find the Val Belluna Loop one of the province’s most beautiful and varied rides.

Quick facts

  • Start/Finish: Belluno (loop)
  • Length: about 78 km
  • Elevation gain: 846 m
  • Surface: mixed, cycle paths and secondary roads
  • Difficulty: easy/moderate, suitable for everyone

From Belluno the route winds through Salce, Villiago and Santa Giustina, alternating cycle paths along the Piave river with quiet secondary roads, on a gentle profile that never presents demanding gradients. After around 36 kilometres you reach Feltre, with its perfectly preserved sixteenth-century old town, an ideal stop along the way. The return to Belluno passes through Busche and Borgo Piave, closing the loop after around 78 kilometres in total. Along the way you’ll find small gems such as Villa Giamosa, the Oratory of San Nicolò with its sixteenth-century triptych, and the old Santa Libera mill.

The route can also be tackled in stages, splitting it over two days with a stop in Feltre, or ridden only in part for a shorter outing along the Valbelluna’s cycle paths.
