Gravel from Feltre to Cima Grappa

For gravel riders, the loop from Feltre up to Cima Grappa is one of the most complete challenges in the area: nearly 2,000 metres of climbing through forests, military roads and views stretching from the Dolomites to the plain.

Quick facts

  • Start/Finish: Feltre (loop)
  • Length: 74.6 km
  • Elevation gain: 1,940 m
  • Surface: mixed, mostly gravel and white roads
  • Difficulty: demanding (expert level)

The route leaves Feltre for the first ramps of the Vette Feltrine, then heads onto white roads and gravel tracks through beech and fir forests, alternating gentler stretches with tough pitches. Past the central section, the route reaches the historic military roads leading to Cima Grappa, built during the First World War, with a technical surface that calls for suitable tyres and good bike handling. The descent towards Feltre offers views over the Valbelluna and a chance to recover before the final stretch home. This is a route designed for gravel riders with good physical and technical preparation.

The route partly follows the tracks of the Sportful Dolomiti Gravel, one of the most popular gravel events in northern Italy, which every year brings hundreds of riders to discover the white roads of the Belluno area and the Prealps.
