SUMMARY:Tre Cime Experience 2026 — five races between Misurina and the Tre Cime
DESCRIPTION:On 12 and 13 September 2026 Lake Misurina and the Cadini become a race course again. Tre Cime Experience is the skyrunning and trail running weekend organised by Cadini Promotion\, the Auronzo di Cadore club\, with the support of Lowa: five races over two days\, from a one-and-a-half kilometre climb to a forty-two kilometre marathon. \nSaturday 12 September: Diavolo Vertical Sprint\nThe weekend opens with a short\, intense effort: 1.5 kilometres and 400 metres of elevation gain\, along the line of the former Torre del Diavolo ski lift\, up to the foot of the Cadini di Misurina. It is a straight-line race\, where what counts is climbing without ever really recovering. \nSunday 13 September: four starts\n\nMisurina Sky Marathon — 42 km and 2\,600 metres of positive elevation gain\, starting at 8:00. Start and finish on the lake shore\, passing below the Tre Cime di Lavaredo\, over the Cadini saddles and across the Paterno group. The stretch through Val Popena\, one of the least travelled corners of the Auronzo area\, is confirmed again.\nCadini Sky Race — 23 km and 1\,600 metres of elevation gain\, starting at 9:00. DESCRIPTION:In September\, in Val Fiorentina\, the cattle come back down to the valley. La Desmontegada di Selva di Cadore is the festival that accompanies their return from the summer pastures: a date that means more to mountain communities than many official holidays\, because it marks the real end of the season. \nWhat to expect. The heart of the day is the parade of the decorated animals\, led through the village by the herders and farmers who spent the summer with them. Around the parade the rest of the festival unfolds: market stalls\, counters selling local produce\, food from the valley\, music and the chance to talk to the people who still work the high pastures. This is a village celebration\, not a reconstruction staged for visitors — and that is exactly what makes it worth the trip. \nWhere. SUMMARY:Sellaronda Bike Day 2026 — autumn edition over the four passes
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday 12 September 2026 the four passes that ring the Sella massif close to cars again and belong to bicycles. This is the autumn edition of the Sellaronda Bike Day\, twin to the one held in June: same loop\, same format\, but with the light and colours of early autumn over the Dolomites. \nFour passes without engines\nFrom 9:00 to 16:00 the roads over Passo Campolongo\, Passo Gardena\, Passo Sella and Passo Pordoi are closed to motor traffic. It is not a race: there are no official starts\, no rankings and no timing. Everyone chooses where to begin\, which direction to ride and at what pace. \nThe organising committee recommends riding the loop anticlockwise and wearing a helmet\, given the speeds reached on the descents. Closing the roads does not suspend the Highway Code\, which still applies. \nThe route\nThe loop measures 51.8 kilometres with roughly 1\,680 metres of positive elevation gain. The shortest climb starts here\, up to Campolongo\, and the longest descent ends here\, down from Pordoi: it is the natural base for anyone arriving from the Agordino or the Boite valley.

DESCRIPTION:At 1\,800 metres above Cortina d’Ampezzo\, the Helmut Ullrich Astronomical Observatory at Col Druscié opens its doors after dark. The altitude and the distance from the valley lights do the rest: up here the sky is the one that no longer exists down on the plain. \nWhat to expect. A guided evening devoted to deep-sky observation. Through the telescope you follow the Moon\, the planets\, double stars\, clusters and nebulae\, in the company of the volunteers of the Associazione Astronomica Cortina\, who move between the technical side and the storytelling: how sailors found their way\, why the constellations carry those names\, what we are really looking at when we look this far. SUMMARY:9th Transcavallo Equinox Run
DESCRIPTION:It is the summer sister of the historic Transcavallo ski mountaineering race: same mountain\, same committee\, opposite season. The Transcavallo Equinox Run takes runners onto the trails of the Alpago Prealps\, along the border with Friuli Venezia Giulia\, on one of those Sundays when summer really does come to an end. \nWhat to expect. The ninth edition\, called Equinox Run Classic\, follows a route of about 21.6 kilometres with 1\,900 metres of positive elevation gain. Start and finish are the same place\, the car park at Col Indes\, 1\,161 metres above Tambre. The course crosses the Cansiglio forest and climbs towards the most recognisable points of this mountain\, through genuinely alpine terrain. It is a race that calls for mountain experience and solid training\, not a road run with a bit of climbing. \nWhere. Col Indes\, Tambre (Alpago). \nWhen. Sunday 27 September 2026\, start at 8.45 am. \nPractical information. A sports medical certificate valid on the day of the race is compulsory.
